Sunflowers!!

So it’s been less than a month I think since I planted my sunflowers, they are now biggish and we (me and my mom) finally got around to planting them in the garden last Sunday (23.04.17) I planted 75 seeds in trays and roughly half of them germinated, we then planted the 12 best ones in our garden, 6 red and 6 yellow! We still have some good looking ones left over which I will be giving to family, this is usually what I do when I plant a ton of seeds, cause who doesn’t love to be gifted Sunflowers!! 🌻🌻

Some got eaten by snails though as I’ve been keeping them outside in their pots so they can get the most of the nice sun we have been having!

Anyway, here are some pics of how they looked before we planted them in the ground!

And here are some pics of the ones we planted in the garden!

Sadly none of my dwarf red ones grew, not sure why, I did the same with them as with my others, I guess they were just dud seeds, was quite looking forward to seeing what those ones looked like as well, but nevermind, try again next year!

These giant ones though are supposed to grow up to 14ft… will be interesting to see how big they do grow and I will definitely post updates on them here too!

Enjoy 🌻🌻🌻

The Mummy Diaries: The Nursery Is Finished!

It is finally finished, clothes are all washed, pictures are hung, Moses basket is here and the room is tidy!

It’s not a very big room but it will do, baby will mostly be in my bedroom for the first few months anyway so it’s not like he will need a ton of space. We did it fairly neutral although I have sort of gone with a bit of an animal theme, I like animals and baby’s like animals so why not, also that way I get to add colours to the room subtly without making the room look smaller by using bright colours on the walls!

Here are some pics!

His cot is mine from when I was a baby and has just been repainted and had a new mattress bought for it, the pictures on the wall my mom made for us and the colourful door knobs I painted myself, so a lot of effort and love has gone into it and I think it looks pretty damn good!!

Anyone else decorated their nursery with mostly handmade/hand me down items?

Animal Crossing New Leaf: R.I.P Dracwyn…

Animal Crossing is a game that I love, I was pretty late to the party and only started playing it 2 years ago, but, in the last 2 years of playing I have grown to absolutely love the game.

For those of you who don’t know the game you are basically the mayor of a town full of animals, you can have up to 10 animal villagers and 4 player characters, you run the town as your Mayor making friends with the villagers who live there and building public works projects to enhance and customize your town.

My first ever town was called Dracwyn, I loved this town and had some awesome villagers over the course that I played it including:

  • Flora
  • Beau
  • Willow
  • Quillson
  • Limberg
  • Poppy
  • Pekoe
  • Phil
  • Drago

Some of my favourites, but eventually it came time to move on, as this was my first town I didn’t really know what I was doing properly, I didn’t put much thought into what i wanted the layout of my map to be like and I didnt really put much thought into how I wanted my town to look once it was fully developed and as such ended up plonking projects willy nilly, over the last few months I really grew bored of this town, I lacked inspiration for it and just sort of stopped playing the game, so, I decided it was time to say goodbye to Dracwyn and start a new life in a new town and so Mirabar was born! But, I will leave that for another post!

Here are some happy memories from Dracwyn…

I loved this little town and the villagers in it, but it was definitely time to move on…

R.I.P Dracwyn…

Spring Has Sprung! 🌻

Well almost… 6 Days!

I can’t wait, I am so done with the cold weather now, I’m ready for a bit of sun and warmth, also my baby will hopefully be a May baby and I am super ready for him to be here except for I’m not actually ready, I have literally nothing prepared, but hey I got like 5 to 10 weeks til he could decide to make an appearance, plenty of time right…

So anyway who else is excited for spring?

One of my favourite things about Spring is flowers, specifically Sunflowers, I am pretty sure I have posted about my love of Sunflowers before, but man do I love them, especially giant ones, they are so satisfying and easy to grow!! I haven’t grown any in about 3/4 years but this year I have decided that seeing as I am moving back to my parents house I will grow some again! I planted 72 seeds (a bit excessive I know) on the 6th of March, 24 Giant Red ones, 24 Giant Yellow ones and 24 red/yellow Dwarf ones, so far 18 have started growing, it took them roughly 5 days to start sprouting and I am super excited to see how they look when they flower which should be around May/June time I think, though don’t quote me on that as it has been a long time since I’ve grown them!

There are loads of other great things about Spring, here are some of my favourites:

  • The smell of freshly cut grass
  • Baby animals (especially ducks)
  • Sunshine
  • Warmth
  • Flowers
  • Everywhere starts to look more alive again
  • Easter!!

Hayfever however is a bit of a downside to spring and summer but hey you gotta take the good with the bad right…

Here are some pics of my freshly sprouting baby Sunflowers for your viewing pleasure!

These are them when I first planted them on the 6th of March.

And these are them today on the 14th of March there are 18 in these pics, though it may be quite hard to see them all as the picture quality isn’t great.

If all of these Sunflowers grow I am going to have soo many! I tend to give them away to family and friends though when I grow loads like this because there is no way they would all fit in my parents garden!

Anyone else have a favourite plant to grow during Spring/Summer?

The Mummy Diaries: Baby Clothes Haul!πŸ‘ΆπŸ»πŸΌ

So the other day I decided to go through all of the clothes that baby boy has, I wanted to take stock of them so I photographed them all and figured why not write a baby haul post about them!

He has quite a lot of things already but I imagine he will have even more after the baby shower, I will do another haul then to show off all the new stuff!

Anyway here are all of his clothes so far!

So yeah as you can see he has quite a few things already! This little dude is going to be spoiled!

He has some lovely hand knitted cardigans made by Arran’s Grandma, quite a few pairs of shoes, including some Uggs which i am super jealous of! I don’t even own a pair of Uggs!! and some cool bits that my family brought home from Vegas, all in all he is doing well so far and he is definitely going to be a trendy kid!

I LOVE Tsum Tsums!!Β

Tsum Tsum’s are something I never thought I would get sucked into, I mean they’re just cuddly toys with no arms or legs right, bit weird, that’s what I thought when I first saw them…

Then they released Nightmare Before Christmas ones and I was sold… I absolutely love Nightmare Before Christmas, probably one of my favourite films ever! But yeah then it just sort of spiraled and now I have been well and truly sucked into them, they’re adorable!

This is my collection so far!

Just a quick one today as I am back home with the family for some early Birthday/late Christmas celebrations!

I just wanted to share some of my rubber duckies with you all… I LOVE THEM!

Nessie is an honorary duck πŸ˜›

P.s. Ducks are like one of my favourite animals, they are just too adorable!

My Instagram Obsession πŸ“·

Lately I am ADDICTED to Instagram, I pretty much post every day, I don’t know why, it’s just some crazy compulsion I have, I like to take pictures!

Pictures of food, like this!

15877056_1878372782396581_6242348185751126016_n1

Don’t ask why, just accept my addiction, embrace it… I have! πŸ˜€ I blame my OH for cooking such lovely photogenic food, yeah we will go with that, it’s his fault πŸ˜›
I think I probably spend as much time looking at Instagram as I do Facebook, but in all seriousness I think it is a great way for people to show off their photography skills, it’s also really fun to just scroll through and look at other people’s pictures! Kinda like on here it’s a lot of fun to just scroll through and read other people’s posts… πŸ™‚

Anyone else obsessed with the likes of Instagram/Pinterest?

2017 Relaunch!

04ba08357c91d1bb3d4d0911d5b762ea_new-years-banner-we-have-as-happy-new-year-banner-clip-art_2700-848

So 2017 is finally here, time to start all that new year, new me rubbish that everyone always loses motivation for by the middle of Jan… Fortunately I have decided to stick with being the same old me that we all know and love! except this year I’m actually going to make a proper go at relaunching this blog… Can you believe it’s been 4 years this year since I started this!

Starting today I am going to aim to post twice a week (for now), Tuesdays and Fridays, I like this schedule cause it means I get a couple of days in between each post to think of new posts and as I occasionally suffer from bloggers block i definitely need this time and I definitely need to start off slow again and build myself back up, I need to rekindle my love for blogging, cause I really do love it!

Along with my new schedule I have updated my theme, changed my layout a little and added some new pics for my header bar! trying to make it feel a bit more fresh, hopefully all of this will help right, I mean if you fall out of love with something its best to start fresh… that’s my theory at least!

So here’s to 2017 being an awesome year and I will be back on Friday with my first post on the new schedule!! (Which is some pretty big news btw)

GGJ 2016 Is Coming!

Games Jam 2016 is literally just around the corner! This is the last one at Stafford campus and probably my last one ever 😞 I am however super excited, it starts on my birthday (Next Friday the 29th) and ends on the Sunday, we have had a bit of a team switch up this year and I’m only working with two of the guys I worked with last year, our team name is Dungeons & Dragons: Tokyo Drift and our team consists of:

– Pinky
– Mariah

– Seymour
– Me

I will be blogging all weekend like I did last year so make sure you keep an eye out, they will be sneak peeks of our game and plenty of pics throughout the weekend πŸ˜„

So yeah I am super hyped for Games Jam this year, it’s going to be a great weekend!

If you don’t know what Global Games Jam is, here is a short description for you πŸ™‚

G
lobal Games Jam!

This is an annual event that happens all over the world, teams of aspiring games designers and none games designers get together to spend a weekend designing and creating a game, we are given a theme to follow but it’s pretty loose and then we are let loose for the weekend to literally make any kind of game our imaginations can come up with. There are tons of different sites that the event is held at but my local one, the one I went to last year is at Staffordshire University.

Here’s a link to the website, go check it out if you’re interested!

Anyway I
shall leave it at that for now, and ill see you all in the next post!
