The Mummy Diaries: 38 Week Update!!

38 Weeks! I honestly never envisioned going past 37 but here we are and with no signs of him showing his face anytime soon either, I guess he’s all warm and cosy in there!

I had a midwife appointment on the 25th, it was just your usual run of the mill appointment, nothing eventful happened, she took my blood pressure, checked my pee sample, felt for baby and listened to his heartbeat, everything is perfect so all is good on that front, he is also now 3/5ths engaged, which really doesn’t mean all that much cause he was the same 4 weeks ago and then decided to move out of my pelvis, which is annoying but ah well, the braxton hicks contractions have now all but stopped too so I am pretty positive this is going to be a long wait!

He is just as wriggly as ever which is wonderful, I really am going to miss feeling his little kicks inside of me when he’s finally here, but, I am so excited to meet him!
According to Ovia this week he is the same size as a Ukulele, weighs roughly 7lbs and is about 19 and a half inches long! lets hope he doesn’t get too much bigger than that! also apparently if he has hair it has a colour by now and his eye colour is also coming in! although I am thinking he will have lovely blue eyes because both me and Arran have blue eyes, I do hope he has lots of dark hair though, but thats not something you see very often, dark hair and blue eyes, but who knows we shall see, I’m sure he will look utterly adorable whatever he looks like!

Arran starts his paternity leave this week! I can’t wait, its going to be so nice to have him around for a whole 3 weeks, we just gotta hope that baby decides to show up in good time so that Arran gets to spend as much time with him as possible!

Here we go into 39 weeks! I might start taking bets on when he will arrive, feel free to leave your guess in the comments!

P.s. my appetite is out of control… please tell me this is a sign!

Ironjawz Army!Β

So I have been meaning to do this post since December last year… I’m terrible I know, but anyway, I got a new Warhammer army for Christmas!

Let me introduce you to the Ironjawz! An awesome, badass army of Orruks,!

They are currently built and sprayed in my parents conservatory and I started painting them on Sunday, I’m doing the classic yellow armour with bits of red thrown in on some of the little details, Arran has done the spraying for me, I decided on white as the undercoat as I think it will help bring out the yellow much better than if we sprayed them in black, so far its working!

Here is a pic of them all sprayed and ready to paint!

We have also already had a few battles with them, against Skaven and Dwarves, so far they have kicked ass and won all but one fight, it’s great! I’m not used to winning this much, however Arran has now bought a new army, the Kharadron Overlords, heres hoping that the Ironjawz can still hold their own against them!

These guys are also so much different to my Dark Elf army, I’m loving them, I have so much more motivation to paint them, I think it’s because they are so different and much more colourful, don’t get me wrong I still love my Dark Elves, I just needed a bit of a break from them as I was lacking the motivation to paint them!

So yes! watch this space, these Ironjawz are going to look awesome when they are finished and lets hope they can keep up their winning streak and destroy their new opponents!!

The Mummy Diaries: Baby Shower!

So it’ll have been 3 weeks tomorrow since my baby shower 😱 I definitely planned on writing this post a lot sooner than now but I have been super busy with baby stuff!

Anyway, my baby shower! It was a great day, if not a little overwhelming but I still had a ton of fun and am very thankful to all of my family and friends who came to celebrate with me! Baby boy got lots of lovely pressies, more clothes than he will ever need and I even got a couple of presents too! Which I wasn’t expecting πŸ˜›

My baby shower was at my parents house as it is a lot bigger than my flat, my mom organised it and my sister and Arran’s mom bought the decorations. It was such a good day, my mom organised some quizzes and a few other games like pin the dummy on the baby and we had a guess how many jelly babies are in the jar too, definitely one of the most fun days I’ve had in a long time! However, I’m not one for being the centre of attention so it was rather overwhelming for me too, having everyone watching me opening presents and just having everyone there to celebrate me and the baby was crazy, I definitely slept well that night cause I was just physically and mentally exhausted!! Still a ton of fun and for anyone who’s thinking of having one I would definitely recommend it, its a great way to get all of your family together!

We had about 25 guests but I didn’t take many pics during the day cause I was just so busy and distracted but here are a few 😊

And some pics of the lovely gifts we received!

So yeah overall it was an awesome day! and now I only have just over 5 weeks to go til my due date!!!

Excited and scared!

The Mummy Diaries: 32 Week Update!

So it’s week 32 already!! Not much has happened in the last two weeks, I haven’t had another midwife appointment yet, my next is at 34 weeks, that will be my last one with my current midwife before I move home and have to change 😒 I love my midwife she’s so nice and never makes me feel silly when I ask dumb questions, but needs must sadly, I’m sure my new midwife will be just as lovely!

Sleeping has gotten a little more uncomfortable these past two weeks, I’ve had a stuffy nose since about 14 weeks and now that we are getting to hayfever season it just feels even worse, I also can’t sleep on my back anymore, it makes me lightheaded πŸ˜› so I’m stuck with sleeping on my sides which is not exactly comfortable! Ah well only 8 more weeks to go til my due date!

I use Ovia as my pregnancy app, I love all the lite tidbits of info it gives you, so now apparently baby weighs in at almost 4lbs and is roughly 18inches long!! Hes a perfect little person, just needs to put on a bit more chub! I had my baby shower on the 11th, it was overwhelming and great all at the same time, I got so much stuff it’s ridiculous and now I have to sort all of it out into size order! I will do a separate post about my baby shower with all the juicy details at some point this week!

Here’s some pics from my Ovia app about baby πŸ‘ΆπŸ»

Hopefully I don’t give birth to an Armadillo…

Animal Crossing New Leaf: R.I.P Dracwyn…

Animal Crossing is a game that I love, I was pretty late to the party and only started playing it 2 years ago, but, in the last 2 years of playing I have grown to absolutely love the game.

For those of you who don’t know the game you are basically the mayor of a town full of animals, you can have up to 10 animal villagers and 4 player characters, you run the town as your Mayor making friends with the villagers who live there and building public works projects to enhance and customize your town.

My first ever town was called Dracwyn, I loved this town and had some awesome villagers over the course that I played it including:

  • Flora
  • Beau
  • Willow
  • Quillson
  • Limberg
  • Poppy
  • Pekoe
  • Phil
  • Drago

Some of my favourites, but eventually it came time to move on, as this was my first town I didn’t really know what I was doing properly, I didn’t put much thought into what i wanted the layout of my map to be like and I didnt really put much thought into how I wanted my town to look once it was fully developed and as such ended up plonking projects willy nilly, over the last few months I really grew bored of this town, I lacked inspiration for it and just sort of stopped playing the game, so, I decided it was time to say goodbye to Dracwyn and start a new life in a new town and so Mirabar was born! But, I will leave that for another post!

Here are some happy memories from Dracwyn…

I loved this little town and the villagers in it, but it was definitely time to move on…

R.I.P Dracwyn…

April The Giraffe…

April The Giraffe!Β

The Internet star broadcast through YouTube and CBS Denver on Facebook, possibly the most anticipated birth on the internet right now… (Maybe), April the Giraffe from NY along with her baby daddy Oliver!

Such a cute couple wouldn’t you say?

Roughly 5k people all over the world tune in every day in the hopes of catching a glimpse of this spectacular mommy give birth, it’s insane! She has no idea how famous she is and if she did do you think she would want the entire world watching her give birth?! I know I wouldn’t!! but she takes it like a trooper and just goes about her day, I wonder how she would feel if she knew we were all watching her?

She even has her own page on the Animal Adventure Park NY website… April The Giraffe

I have been checking in more or less every day since probably the last week of Feb, I’ve never seen a Giraffe give birth before, but I’m not obsessed like some people are, some stay up til’ all hours of the day watching, not wanting to miss the grand event, there is so much anticipation surrounding her birth, people speculate when it will happen, question if its even real and some just watch silently enjoying the up close and personal perspective we are getting into the life of a Giraffe!

It’s great and gives me something to kill time with, come join us crazies who are all eagerly awaiting this baby!!

Now the next big question is, boy or girl?!

Spring Has Sprung! 🌻

Well almost… 6 Days!

I can’t wait, I am so done with the cold weather now, I’m ready for a bit of sun and warmth, also my baby will hopefully be a May baby and I am super ready for him to be here except for I’m not actually ready, I have literally nothing prepared, but hey I got like 5 to 10 weeks til he could decide to make an appearance, plenty of time right…

So anyway who else is excited for spring?

One of my favourite things about Spring is flowers, specifically Sunflowers, I am pretty sure I have posted about my love of Sunflowers before, but man do I love them, especially giant ones, they are so satisfying and easy to grow!! I haven’t grown any in about 3/4 years but this year I have decided that seeing as I am moving back to my parents house I will grow some again! I planted 72 seeds (a bit excessive I know) on the 6th of March, 24 Giant Red ones, 24 Giant Yellow ones and 24 red/yellow Dwarf ones, so far 18 have started growing, it took them roughly 5 days to start sprouting and I am super excited to see how they look when they flower which should be around May/June time I think, though don’t quote me on that as it has been a long time since I’ve grown them!

There are loads of other great things about Spring, here are some of my favourites:

  • The smell of freshly cut grass
  • Baby animals (especially ducks)
  • Sunshine
  • Warmth
  • Flowers
  • Everywhere starts to look more alive again
  • Easter!!

Hayfever however is a bit of a downside to spring and summer but hey you gotta take the good with the bad right…

Here are some pics of my freshly sprouting baby Sunflowers for your viewing pleasure!

These are them when I first planted them on the 6th of March.

And these are them today on the 14th of March there are 18 in these pics, though it may be quite hard to see them all as the picture quality isn’t great.

If all of these Sunflowers grow I am going to have soo many! I tend to give them away to family and friends though when I grow loads like this because there is no way they would all fit in my parents garden!

Anyone else have a favourite plant to grow during Spring/Summer?

Easter Bakes!

So I know it’s only March but yesterday me and my friend decided to have an early Easter!

We did some baking! We took some inspiration off Pinterest and made a Mini Egg and Marshmallow Rocky Road!

To make it we followed a simple Tiffin recipe and then added our own stuff to it, our own stuff being Mini Eggs and Marshmallows, it didn’t take us too long and was super fun and very yummy and of course we both Instagramed the finished product!

Here are some pics!

Looks good right!! Well I can confirm it tasted great!

Happy Pancake Day! πŸ₯ž

Happy Pancake Day guys!

Who’s having pancakes? I’m having some for pudding later, normally we would make American style pancakes cause they are so good but I feel like today should be for our lovely skinny English pancakes! I also enjoy flipping them… in the flipping master… maybe not but still it’s fun 😁

I don’t do lent though, especially not this year, though maybe I should give up biscuits… I don’t think that’s gunna happen though to be honest 😝

Anyone giving anything up for lent? And what kinda pancakes do you prefer? English or American?

Introducing The Mummy Diaries!

So The Mummy Diaries is the name that I have decided to use for my posts about pregnancy and beyond, I feel like it is fitting as I will be a mummy very soon! and I wanted to distinguish these posts from my others, so there we have it, The Mummy Diaries is my new series! I was considering starting a whole new blog for this series but I struggle to keep up with this one sometimes so having two that I’m trying to post on would probably be a bit of a nightmare!

Anyway, keep an eye out, i will post an update on my pregnancy every two weeks and then there will be other random posts inbetween!

First up: Baby Haul coming March 1st!
